Job Summary:
Responsible for making sure parts coming out of cold heading machinery meet specifications. This will be accomplished by evaluating the print and measuring parts. Other duties include emptying pans of parts, cleaning around equipment and notifying set-up operators if parts do not meet specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Handle and work with very small metal parts
- Working with micrometers, calipers, and comparators to measure parts
- Work with tight tolerances, precision standards
- Learn and understand quality programs – SPC, pre-control, and tqm
- Good with Basic Math
- Committed to a high standard of quality, customer focus, and team atmosphere.
- Abide by all safety practices put forth by Norstan
- Communicate when dies are not meeting expectations with parts
- Load parts into stress relief furnace
- Assist Set-up Operators
Qualifications:
- Effectively use Micrometers and Calipers and learn Comparators
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow and implement safety rules.
- Ability to enter and fill out production reports and quality reports
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for periods of time while performing duties
- Ability to enter information into computer

Job Summary:
Responsible for set-up of Class-A Progressive stamping dies. Work with operators to keep presses running. Keep an eye out for damage or wearing dies that need to be fixed and sharpened up. Ability to read prints and keep parts within specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Experience in setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and operating Stamping Equipment.
- Knowledge of different types of equipment used on presses including, payoffs, shakers, feeders, and straighteners
- Work with tight tolerances, precision standards
- Understanding of quality programs – SPC, pre-control, and tqm
- Working knowledge of micrometers, comparators and have good math skills
- Committed to a high standard of quality, customer focus, and team atmosphere.
- Abide by all safety practices put forth by Norstan
- Ability to make suggestions to improve part/production performance.
- Ability to work from schedules and meet deadlines.
- Communicate when dies are not producing good parts
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Die Setting experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow and implement safety rules.
- Ability to enter and fill out production reports and quality reports
- Experience working with tight tolerance progressive die stamped parts
- Ability to, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for periods of time while performing duties

We are seeking a tool and die maker with a high degree of skill and broad background in production tooling and die work.
Responsibilities
- Build new and repair complex class A progressive stamping dies
- Work from blueprints , sketches, models , and specifications to plan sequence of operations for fabrication of tools and dies.
- Programming experience and ability to run Mitsubishi wire machine is a plus
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or CAD files to determine specifications and dimensions of the die
- Set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to shape and finish die components
- Inspect completed dies for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments or repairs
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues with dies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years in a fast-paced manufacturing
- Must have a great work ethic, attendance, and communication skills
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with stamping press operations and die maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints, sketches, or CAD files to fabricate or repair dies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
